    (i) Eligibility Criteria
    (i) 10+2/equivalent (PCM Average-Minimum 60% and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination).



    (ii) Marital status – Unmarried.



    (ii) Age Criteria Maximum age:


    For Male: General-25 years, OBC(NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years
    For Female: General-27 years, OBC(NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years.The reference date for calculation of the age will be from the date of commencement of the Academic Session (01.08.2022)


    (iii) Relaxation
    Relaxation of 5% in English marks will be applicable to candidates who are native of the Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and belongs to

    Course Type: Pre Sea (RESIDENTIAL course)

    Course Commencement: January and July  

    Age limit: 

    Minimum age 18 years

    Maximum age limit is 25 years at the time of commencement of the course. (On 1st January or 1st July)

     

    Medical standards: 

    1. Should be physically fit for sea and should meet the medical standards laid by the Director General of shipping.

    2. Eyesight/Vision: Use of corrective lenses for eyesight is permitted but the maximum permissible limits, at entry, are 6/6 in each eye. Color blindness is not permitted. No squint. No eye disease.

    3. BMI Minimum: 20, BMI Maximum: 30

    4. No speech disorder

     

    Course 

    cover all aspects of the seafaring profession (Deck and Engine).

    Eligibility

    Educational qualifications:

    – 10th Standard pass from government recognized board with subjects English, Mathematics & Science with 40 % aggregate.

    STEP TO FOLLOW

    Step 1: Registration of DG approved Maritime training institute (approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.)

    Step 2: written entrance examination and personal interview.

    Step 3: Medical fitness examination by DGS approved doctor

    Step 4: 6 Months pre-sea training by DG shipping approved Maritime training institute After the training, external examinations is conducted by Board of Examination of Seafarers (BES) under D.G Shipping (Govt of India).

    Step 5: Go onboard as Trainee OS (Ordinary Seaman) for 12 Months.

    Step 6: Get Watchkeeping Certificates from MMD\DG shipping

    Step 7: Sail as Able Seamen for 12 to 18 months

    Step 8: Sarang \Bosun
