Engine Room Log Books

All entries should with pen, legible and in block letters.

Engine Log Book

Duty Engineer shall ensure that minimum entries should be made :

1. Operating parameters of Engine room machinery (Main engine, Aux engine, Boiler etc.) such as RPM, Load, Temperature and pressures.
   
2. Current watch level and Change in Engine Room Watch levels.
3. ROB of Bunkers (Fuel and lube oil).
   
4. Fuel Changeover 
5. Entering and Exit of ECA
6. Bunker operations.
7. Internal oil transfers (Bunker or Lubricating Oil).
8. For Vessels operating UMS, the times when UMS and manned status.
9. Any Deficiency or Malfunctions happened in equipment
10. Any repairs carried out.
11. Any other significant event.
12. Signature of Officer in charge (watchkeepers)
13. Signature of Chief Engineer.
    

Engine Moment Book

Minimum entries to be made in Engine moment Book by Duty Engineer are:

1. Date, Port (arrival or departure)
2. Time of different notices(1hr, 2hr etc.)
3. Time of clock synchronization
4. Time of testing of steering
5. Time when engines testing (ahead and astern).
6. Time of Standby Engine.
7.  Counter of Main Engine Revolution at SBE, FWE etc.
