Stripping of the Cargo tanks by FRAMO PUMP

  1. When the tank is pumped empty, the pump will also suck air, so called gulping and discharge pressure 0 bar.
  2. Close the main cargo discharge valve.
  3. Stop the cargo Deepwell Pump.
  4. Check the pressure of Inert gas, air or Nitrogen, at least 6 bar.
  5. Connect the flexible hose to the stripping connection at the cargo pipe on the Top cover.
  6. Start the Deepwell Pump again.
  7. Open the stripping valve.
  8. When the cargo tank is empty, open the (Inert gas, Air or Nitrogen) valve to the cargo pipe.
  9. Owing to the Inert gas, Air or Nitrogen pressure the cargo will be impelled downwards but, due to the running impeller, the cargo will not vanish into the tank but shall, via the stripping pipe, be impelled upwards.
  10. When the cargo is expelled from the pump there will be a minimum quantity of cargo in the tank left over.
  11. Close the stripping valve and the Inert gas, Air or Nitrogen valves also.
